The Crescent Moon Duvet & Pillow Company began in 1997 producing hand-crafted duvets, mattress pads and pillows made from the wool of the Llama. With increasing popularity, the Crescent Moon ranch realized that they would need more fibre in order to make their products. The decision soon came to select Alpaca Wool fibre as the material of choice due to it’s very soft, porous and springy qualities.
Sourcing the Alpaca Wool from ranches in British Columbia and Alberta, all Crescent Moon bedding products are made with organic cotton encasements and are hand-made in Canada. They have gone the ‘extra mile’ by packaging their products in re-usable, 100% cotton drawstring bags and shipped using biodegradable plastic bags.
Alpaca Wool shares similar qualities to traditional Sheep’s wool and is super soft, non-allergenic and entirely natural. Today, Crescent Moon Duvet & Pillow Co. is owned and operated by BC-native Julie McLean. Visit their official website here.
