The HealthMate Plus HM450 Standard Air Purifier is an extension of Austin Air’s original model with more capability. It provides the same benefits as the HealthMate HM400 Standard, but offers greater cleaning capacity. The impregnation of potassium iodide (along with the zeolite) provides greater relief for people living with poor air quality. The HealthMate Plus cleans an area of 1,500 square feet (with normal ceiling heights). It’s filter is designed to last up to five years (in a residential setting). The HealthMate HM450 also comes in a junior size version.

Filter Details

The HealthMate Plus comes equipped with a 360-Degree Progressive Filtering System. It addresses the complete spectrum of air cleaning: removing sub-micron particles, noxious gases and chemicals. Therefore, the 360-degree intake system draws air into all sides of the purifier machine while passing it through a 4-stage internal filter. This results in more clean air being delivered at a faster, more efficient rate.

• STAGE 1 – large particle pre-filter removes particles easily seen (dust, hair, and pet dander)
• STAGE 2 – medium particle pre-filter removes small to medium size particles (molds, spores and pollen)
• STAGE 3 – 15 lbs. of Activated Carbon impregnated with Potassium Iodide and Zeolite (10:1 ratio) removes chemicals, gases and odours
• STAGE 4 – 60 square feet of Certified HEPA removes 99.97% of all particles larger than 0.3 microns

Care Instructions

• Once a month vacuuming of the four sides of the outside screen using the brush attachment of your vacuum cleaner
• Should you smell an unpleasant odour coming from the unit, or if you notice a significantly reduced airflow, it is likely time to replace your filter(s)
• Your external filter (pre-filter) should be replaced every 1-2 years of normal use
• Your internal filter should be replaced prior to the completion of the 5th year of use (for ideal performance)
