The base (core) layer is made of a zoned natural rubber and is available in a medium or firm feel.<\/p>\n<p><em>What is a zoned core?<\/em> When the natural rubber is taken from the Rubber Tree, the sap is uniformly baked into different densities. A <strong>zoned<\/strong> core uses technology to enhance the rubber&#8217;s performance. This is achieved by baking different areas of the mattress to allow for a softer or firmer feel. For example, our zoned cores have a softer shoulder area and a firmer hip area.
