About St Geneve Nocturne Ecru Silk Duvet Cover
The St Geneve Nocturne Ecru Silk Duvet Cover is the perfect companion for your best duvet. Soft and sumptuous, the Nocturne Ecru will provide the dazzle that your bedroom sorely needs! Made by a German mill which has been specializing in silk since 1923, St Geneve’s Nocturne Duvet Cover pairs nicely with many off-white bed linens. Go the classic route with a solid pattern or select the Crepe or Herringbone patterns for a subtle dash of opulence.
What is Silk? Silk is an extremely soft and luxurious fabric. The Nocturne Ecru is made from the Mulberry silk moth which lives on mulberry leaves. The silk filaments come from the cocoons built by these moths, generally known as “silkworms.” When the silk filament is ready to be removed from the cocoon, the filaments are carefully unwound from several cocoons at once to create a single strand of silk. The strands are then wound together creating a silk yarn. The weight of the yarn will vary depending on the number of strands used.
Silk is much stronger than any other textile fibre and will last for many years when properly cared for. It is perfect on warm nights as it can absorb up to a third of its own weight in moisture without feeling damp. As the coolest of all fabrics, it is also able to respond quickly to temperature changes. In the winter, it will feel warm and inviting. It is great for people with rheumatism and other aches and pains due to the fact it is much easier to turn in a bed dressed in silk.
St Geneve’s Nocturne Ecru Silk Duvet Cover is perfectly paired with the Nocturne Sheet Set. All St Geneve Nocturne Ecru Silk Duvet Covers are sewn and finished in Canada.
