Soma bed frames are made from carefully selected Canadian softwoods and hardwoods, such as spruce, poplar, and ash. None of the wood is ever treated with chemicals of any kind. The finest natural waxes and non-toxic oils are used. All slats are extremely strong and flexible, providing perfect support and unmatched comfort. No synthetic glues, dyes, or finishing sprays are used at any stage of production. The base and top structures are assembled from wood slats and beams, each piece individually crafted and fitted to specifications by a skilled cabinetmaker following a traditional European design
In the Soma Foundation, a heavy-duty organic cotton cover is united with extra-firm support from wide wood slats placed every two inches for maximum coverage. This foundation is recommended for use with Soma 6F, Soma 6M and the Soma 6+2.
The soma foundation is 8" in height and is also available in 3.5" height, making it an ideal choice for an antique or child’s bed.
